BEACH FRONT PARADISE
The perfect base for exploring Tenerife.
Palm Beach is located at the heart of the vibrant beach resort of Playa de las Americas on the sunny south coast of Tenerife.
The south of the island, with its superb views across the Atlantic Ocean to the neighbouring Canary Islands, is a wonderful holiday destination for families and couples alike – and offers something for almost every type of traveler.
There are so many ways to make the most of what Tenerife has to offer, but here are a few “must-dos” to help you plan your holiday.
Palm Beach Tenerife is perfectly located in the middle of it all – with beaches, bars, restaurants and shopping centres all within a short walk of the resort.
If you’re looking for something a bit different to the usual white sand and blue sea, why not take a walk to the famous “surfers beach” where you will find natural pools to bathe in whilst you watch the local experts catch the waves.
El Teide is the highest point in all of Spanish territory, the third highest volcano in the world and a must see for visitors to Tenerife. For explorers, there is a cable car that whisks you to the top of the volcano, affording you incredible 360 degree views. On a clear day it is possible to see all of the other islands.
The volcanic history of El Teide has created a moonscape environment in places which is often likened to the surface of Mars – you might even recognise the scenery from a number of famous movies including One Million Years BC, Planet of the Apes, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Clash of the Titans.
Loro Parque is one of Tenerife’s best attractions. Located in the north of the island in the busy tourist resort of Puerto de la Cruz, Loro Parque is home to the largest collection of parrots in the world – with over 350 different species and over 4,000 individual birds.
The park is also home to a host of other animals including chimpanzees, gorillas, sea lions, otters, orcas, dolphins, iguanas, lions, alligators, piranhas, sharks, flamingos and jaguars. Be sure to visit the Penguinarium – the largest artificial iceberg in the world.
Los Gigantes, located on the west coast of Tenerife, is a must see for all those who love marine life. Charter a boat, hire a kayak or join a jet ski safari and set sail from the quaint harbour to explore the famous sea caves and 800m cliffs of Los Gigantes.
Don’t forget to bring your camera as there is a very good chance you will get up close and personal with the island’s resident dolphins, whales and turtles
Located in the wetter, greener region of the north, Masca is a beautiful village situated 600m up in the Macizo de Teno Mountains. This charming hamlet was almost entirely cut off from the rest of the island, until a road was built in the 1970s.
For hikers the area offers an abundance of incredible trails. Indeed, Masca marks the beginning of the Masca Gorge hike which leads down to the ocean through a rugged landscape and lush, green vegetation.
Playa de las Americas is home to Siam Park – voted the best water park in the world by tripadvisor.
Only a three minute walk from Palm Beach Club, the Thai themed park is a tropical paradise and home to the longest lazy river in the world, the 12th highest slide and the world’s highest artificial wave pool – a great day out for all the family.
